Members of social networks like Squidoo, Facebook, and Ning use them in many ways. Uses fall into three broad categories. Individuals use them for sharing personal interests with friends. Others use them for small business or professional purposes. Some people use them for both.
Corporate or enterprise use of social networks is a third class of use many social networks occupy. LinkedIn is one such social site.
As the demand for quality, professional uses of these social network sites grows, the number of small online communities also grows. One example is Professional Squids on Ning. A small group of people who use Squidoo for both personal and professional purposes have gathered there to share tips and tricks about how to apply sophisticated business methods using social media.
